A product that looks like an e-bike can be a motor vehicle, while a motorcycle-styled model may still qualify as a bicycle only when every applicable rule is met.

How to source an electric moped for your market

  1. Map the route and rider. Record daily distance, gradients, payload, climate, target speed and charging windows.
  2. Confirm the legal category. Match the intended configuration to national and local rules before requesting samples.
  3. Normalize battery claims. Compare nominal voltage, capacity, usable energy, cell chemistry, BMS, charger and warranty—not range alone.

Range and charging without headline-number traps
